Trapt is an American rock band formed in Los Gatos, California. Since 2021, their lineup has consisted of Chris Taylor Brown (vocals and guitar), Pete Charell (bass), Shawn Sonnenschein (guitar), and Mitch Moore (drums). Eight studio albums have been recorded to date: Trapt (2002), Someone In Control (2005), Only Through The Pain (2008), No Apologies (2010), Reborn (2013), DNA (2016), Shadow Work (2020), and The Fall (2024).
Trapt's biggest commercial success was their eponymous major-label debut, which became certified platinum by 2003 and included the hit single "Headstrong", which became a crossover hit to the pop charts and peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. Trapt has been able to maintain a presence in the rock market throughout the decade. The band has sold over 2.5 million records worldwide.
Lil Rob is an American rapper, producer & actor born in San Diego. He found commercial success with the 2005 release Twelve Eighteen (Part I) in which the single "Summer Nights" received national airplay, a first in his career. "Summer Nights" peaked at #36 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #13 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart. The follow-up single, "Bring Out The Freak In You", peaked at #85 on the Hot 100 Charts, and at #20 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart. The exposure led to small roles in the 2005 Cuba Gooding Jr. film Dirty and the 2007 Rob Schneider vehicle Big Stan, both of which were released straight to DVD in the US. Lil Rob has collaborated with musicians such as E-40, Ice Cube, Kid Frost, Paul Wall, The Game, Pitbull, N.O.R.E., Bizzy Bone, Baby Bash, Fat Joe, Flo Rida, MC Magic, and Cuco. Lil Rob and Mr. Shadow were in a group called the Mayhem Click.
Mellow Man Ace focused on lovers rap with a blend of urban hip hop and occasional bilingual delivery, and a heady gift for novelty rhymes. His debut album Escape From Havana was released on Capitol on August 29, 1989, and featured production from the Dust Brothers and Def Jef. The single "Mentirosa" was released on March 9, 1990. It was his only hit single, peaking at Number 14 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart. Ace recorded one additional album, The Brother with Two Tongues, before virtually retiring from the music scene, but 2000 saw the release of the album From the Darkness into the Light. Next came the album Vengo a Cobrar. It was released on June 8, 2004, on Dimelo Records. In 2006, he collaborated with his brother Sen Dog of hip-hop group Cypress Hill, culminating in the album release Ghetto Therapy. 2010 saw the release of the album Restoring Order. In 2018, he released the single, "South Gate". Mellow Man Ace was also a founding member of the hip hop group Cypress Hill and member of the Latin Alliance project.
